Jenny Powers is a mom, a writer, a scientist, and an athlete from Colorado. She has a BS in chemical engineering and PhD in Immunology from the University of Colorado. She left academia to raise her two kids and to pursue a writing career. Prior to writing “On the Origin of Being: Understanding the Science of Evolution to Enhance Your Quality of Life” with Luke Comer, she had only ever written scientific journal articles and middle grade novels. This unique opportunity allowed her scientific training and passion for writing to come together in many ways.
